A.M.B. Lift Inc. started in Ottawa in 1990 with a straightforward idea: give local businesses a forklift dealer they could actually count on. Not just someone to sell them equipment and walk away — but a team that shows up when something breaks, knows the machines inside and out, and picks up the phone.
More than three decades later, that’s still how we operate. We’re a privately held, Ottawa-based company with a team that brings over 50 years of combined hands-on experience in the material handling industry. We’re not a national chain. We’re your neighbours, and we know the businesses, warehouses, and job sites in this region because we’ve been serving them for a long time.
What We Do
We’re a full-service material handling provider. That means we cover everything — new equipment sales, used equipment, short and long-term rentals, replacement parts, and on-site or in-shop service and maintenance.
Whether you’re running a distribution centre in Ottawa, a construction site near Peterborough, or a manufacturing facility anywhere along the 401 corridor from Cornwall to Cobourg, we’ve got the equipment and the people to support you.
Our service territory covers Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec, with a branch in Peterborough for customers in that region.

Our service technicians handle both on-site and off-site repairs. When your equipment goes down, we move fast — because we know downtime costs you money. Regular maintenance, annual inspections, fleet repair, emergency call-outs — we handle it all.
Our shop is set up to take on big jobs. And when you need an inspection to stay compliant with current regulations, we’ll make sure you’re covered.
On the sales side, our team takes the time to understand your operation before recommending anything. The right forklift for a food warehouse isn’t the same as the right machine for a lumberyard or a construction site. We’ve seen enough different applications over the years that we can usually spot the right fit quickly, and steer you away from the wrong one.
